Thankfully, my friends had already mapped out an epic group trip to Joshua Tree, and all I had to do was pack my bags and show up. The best kind of trip, honestly. There’s something magical about Joshua Tree. The raw beauty of the desert, the stillness, the golden sunsets—this place just hits differently when you need to reset and recharge.

Our First stop? LA for some In-N-Out noms (priorities) and a quick dispensary run (California perks) before making the long, scenic drive to our Airbnb in Joshua Tree.

First Hike: Inspiration Peak at Sunset
The first evening, we set out on a hike to Inspiration Peak, and let me just say—thank goodness for my experienced hiker friends. I love a good scenic walk, but navigating the wilderness solo? Hard pass. They had us scaling peaks, and I somehow managed to do this in my Comme des Garçons high-top Chucks—which, against all odds, survived.
The effort? 1000% worth it. The sunset over the desert was pure magic. One of those moments you mentally bookmark forever.
Morning Trek: Ladder Canyon Adventure

Day two started with an early hike to Ladder Canyon, where we climbed actual ladders to get in and out of deep canyon caves. Mildly terrifying? Yes. Would I do it again? Also yes.
Luckily, the guys were pros at helping us get through the more intense parts (because let’s be real, I was not about to scale a rock wall unassisted). The views were unreal, and the experience was nothing short of exhilarating.
Pit Stop: Cholla Cactus Garden
Before heading back to our Airbnb, we made a stop at Cholla Cactus Garden—aka the perfect spot for golden-hour desert photos. I mean, who doesn’t love a good cactus backdrop?
Halloween in the Desert: Gangster Clown Edition

That night, we had a Halloween party under the full blue moon, featuring face paint, flannel shirts, and a full Gangster Clown theme (fake money and prop guns included). My makeup skills came in clutch, and the guys even set up an outdoor light photoshoot so we could capture the night’s chaotic energy.
People say Joshua Tree has some of the highest vibrations on Earth, and honestly? I felt it. The energy was unreal.
